NOMAD LIVING
Walking the nomadic path is an invitation to open oneself to the new and unknown. An invitation to be on the move in life, in motion and constant flow. But NOMAD LIVING also means arriving, meeting, sharing, and then setting off again for new horizons. NOMAD LIVING is when the journey itself is a home.
We see our bed & breakfast as an oasis for a moment of peace, a place where simply being becomes possible. The Flusshaus is also a meeting place for the exchange of stories and moments, for cultural enjoyment and dialogue that dissolves boundaries and creates connection.
ABOUT US - WE ARE TRAVELERS
"Warm desert air touching my skin, the scent of sun-kissed pine trees, walking barefoot across a pebble beach, strolling with open senses through a lively marketplace full of foreign voices and smells, being invited to tea in the shade of a mango tree, looking into smiling eyes and feeling my hair and skin being touched with curiosity..."
NOMAD LIVING is our attitude to life and the story of our personal lives. We have travelled far and wide, been on many continents, and through our work we have had the privilege of meeting people in a wide variety of cultures and walking a little way with them. We love to immerse ourselves in foreign worlds, to be fascinated and inspired by the unknown. We have a nomadic heart.
With our bed & breakfast we have found our nomad tent. Here we are now creating a temporary home for other travellers. The experience of having travelled the world, of being a nomad, can be felt and experienced everywhere in the house. We bring this feeling of the wide world to the Flusshaus in Brugg for you. NOMAD LIVING can also become your story. A stopover where something happens that you can take with you as a fond memory for your further journey.
THE FLUSSHAUS
A LOVE STORY
It was not love at first sight; without a garden and balcony, we did not initially see an oasis here. But walking into the old town house for the first time changed our view immediately, surprised by so many unexpected things, beautiful rooms, old materials, the imposing staircase or the view of the water. Our fantasies were immediately fired. Our long-cherished wish for an inn as a meeting place could take shape here. In June 2019, the owners at the time informed us that they would support our project and hand over the keys to us accordingly. The love story came to life, even if it would still demand a lot of patience, back-breaking work and perseverance from us. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
Our vision quickly took shape. The ever mindful treatment of the old building fabric, coupled with our ideas of use and design, led us as owners, as construction managers, as a team of craftsmen and as a couple to countless issues and questions. Finding people who were willing to implement our vision with us as professionals proved to be a search and fortunately a successful finding. For this we are grateful. The River House project began to grow.
Starting at the very top, we peeled through the rooms and floors, letting each space have its effect on us and finding its own design language. In doing so, we always tried to do justice to the good spirit of our river house, which we affectionately called "the venerable old lady". This connection to the old lady led us in many decisions. We made discoveries, uncovered walls, ceilings, floors, collected stories and through the greatest love for details and with alert senses let our river house grow into what it is today: a place for meeting, exchange, peace and love. Today we look back with much satisfaction.
